Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

On the occasion of the 146th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and the declaration of his birthday of 02nd October as the “International Day of non-Violence” by the United Nations, a function will be held at the Amphie Theatre Sakis Karagiorgas( at Panteion University, 136 Sygrou Avenue ,Athens, at 6.30 to 21.30 hrs. on Friday, 02nd October, 2016.

The programme will be as follows:

  • Welcome address by Vice Chancerllor of Panteion University, Prof. Evangelos Pronjas

  • Introductory speech by The Ambassador of India Ms. M. Manimekalai

  • Speech by Professor Christodoulos Gialouridis, Head of the School for International Studies, Communication & Culture on the theme ‘The Influence of Philosophy of Gandhi on configuring World Peace”

  • Speech by Dr. Dimtrios Vassiliadis, Indoglogist Professor and President of ELINEPA, on the theme ”Gandhi’s views on how to overcome an Economic Crisis”.

  • Projection of the documentary “Mahatma Gandhi: A Great Soul of the 20th Century “( 46 min. English with Greek Subtitles)

  • Photo exhibition from Mahatma Gandhi’s house.

  • Gandhi’s favourite songs by Kostas Kalaitziz

Tea/Snacks will be served. All are welcome to attend.
